"description_short": "Five heavy-duty ABS plastic swatters with a wide 11.2 x 12.5 cm head, a 43 cm handle for reach, and a hanging loop so each one lives where you need it.",
"description": "Why a swatter still wins\n\nThere is a long list of ways to kill a fly and most of them are worse than the oldest one. A\nspray puts chemicals into the room you are cooking in. A plug-in takes hours. A rolled magazine\nworks and leaves a mark on the wall.\n\nA swatter is instant, costs nothing to run, and puts nothing in the air. The fly lands, you deal\nwith it, and that is the end of it.\n\nWhat makes one good\n\nTwo things, and neither is obvious until you have used a bad one.\n\nThe first is the size of the head. A small swatter needs an accurate swing, and almost nobody\nswings accurately at something that moves. The 11.2 x 12.5 cm head here is wide enough that being\nroughly right is good enough.\n\nThe second is flex. A rigid swatter either bounces off or dents whatever is behind the fly. This\none is ABS plastic chosen to bend on impact, which is why it lands on a painted wall or a worktop\nwithout leaving anything behind.\n\nThe handle matters more than you would think\n\nFlies do not settle at chest height. They pick ceilings, the tops of door frames, high corners and\nthe far side of a kitchen counter.\n\nAt 43 cm this reaches most of that from where you are standing. The alternative is dragging a\nchair over, by which time the fly has moved.\n\nWhy five\n\nThis is the part that sounds like padding and is not.\n\nThe problem with owning one swatter is that it is never in the room you need it in. You go to\nfetch it, the fly relocates, and you give up. Hang one in the kitchen, one by the back door, one\non the patio and one in the shed, and the fly is dealt with in the two seconds after it lands\nrather than not at all.\n\nThe hanging hole in each handle is what makes that work. A swatter in a drawer is a swatter you\nwill not use.\n\nUsing it well\n\nAim slightly behind and above the fly rather than directly at it. Flies take off backwards and\nupwards, so that is where it is going, not where it is.\n\nSwing fast rather than hard. Speed is what closes the gap before it reacts; force just pushes a\ncushion of air ahead of the swatter that can shove a light insect out of the way.\n\nAfterwards, scoop it up with the head and flick it into the bin. Rinse the swatter under the tap\nnow and then and let it dry.\n\nIt is not a substitute for a screen\n\nWorth saying plainly, because it is the same answer for every swatter we sell. A window or door\nscreen stops flies getting in at all, which will always beat dealing with them once they are\ninside. The swatter is for the ones that got in before you closed up.",
"llm_summary": "Manual Bug Swatters, a five pack of heavy duty hand fly swatters made from flexible ABS plastic, used to kill flies, mosquitoes and crawling insects indoors and outdoors. Each swatter has a large 11.2 x 12.5 cm swat area that makes it easier to connect with a fast moving insect, and a 43 cm handle giving enough reach for ceilings, door frames and the far side of a worktop. The plastic bends on impact rather than breaking, and will not scratch or damage household surfaces such as painted walls, worktops or furniture. A hanging hole in each handle allows it to be stored on a hook in a kitchen, patio, office, classroom or shed. Supplied multi coloured, five per pack. Chemical free and reusable, with no spray, residue or odour.",
